Twitch is one of the most popular live streaming platforms on the internet. It has a massive audience, with over 31 million daily visitors on average. It’s easy to start a stream on Twitch and bring people together around whatever interests you. You can share your favorite games with others, but you can also host a variety of events such as music festivals, rocket launches, street tours of Tokyo, and goat yoga. Whether you’re new to streaming or a seasoned pro, there are always ways to make your stream more engaging for your audience.
The Twitch VOD URL is the permalink to a video on demand from a Twitch channel. Unlike live streams, which have a temporary URL that expires after the broadcast, the VOD URL is permanent and can be used to link to the video from anywhere. The Twitch VOD URL is also useful when you want to embed your video on another website or mobile app.
To get the VOD URL for a specific video, navigate to the video in the Twitch mobile app and click the Share icon in the top right corner. You can then select a method for sharing the video, such as Twitter or Facebook. If you’re a developer, you can use the Twitch API to access the video and generate a custom link.
When you generate the Twitch VOD URL, it will contain all of the information needed to play the video including the audio and a thumbnail image. The URL will also contain a unique ID that can be used to track viewer engagement with your video. You can track your VOD performance with the Twitch VOD Analytics API.
How to Check if Twitch App is Installed
If you want to connect your mobile application with the Twitch platform, it’s important to know how to test if the Twitch app is installed on a device. This guide explains how to do so using the Videos endpoint, and describes deep links, which allow third party mobile apps and web sites to take users directly to a specific location within a Twitch app.
How to Change Twitch URL
Changing your Twitch URL is simple, but you can only do it once every 60 days. To do it, log in to your account and navigate to your Profile Settings. Select Preferences, then Channel from the left-hand sidebar. Your primary stream key will be displayed at the top of the page, and you can copy it by clicking the clipboard icon.
If you’re a creator, you can enable past broadcast archiving in your Stream Settings on the Twitch Creator Dashboard by toggling the “Always Publish VODs” option to the on position. Once enabled, all of your broadcasts will be saved as VODs. To disable this feature, toggle the option to the off position. You can also unpublish videos in a specific stream category by visiting the Stream Categories page in your VOD Settings.
